Why work for CI Healthcare?

We know that it takes exceptional people to provide exceptional care, which is at the heart of everything we do.

We do this by; selecting caring, dynamic, compassionate people who want to make a difference to the lives of our Residents. As an employee at CI Healthcare, you’ll be part of a highly skilled, professional team who are dedicated to revolutionising long-term care.
We’re very proud of our Homes and what we’ve achieved so far, but we want our team to help us enhance the experiences and lives of the people they are caring for, whether this is through tailored activities or the clinical approach they follow on a daily basis. We encourage all employees to share their ideas, and, if we think they’ll make a positive difference to our Residents, we empower our staff to implement them.

As a family run business, our staff enjoy regular social events throughout the year, to include; charity events, BBQs in Herm and parties on island. It is a great opportunity to get to know your colleagues from other homes and enjoy some downtime outside of work.

All members of our team are given a thorough induction and training in best practice care, enabling them to embrace modern approaches to looking after individuals in a long-term care environment. This includes face to face training in dementia, safeguarding, infection control, nutrition and safe moving and handling.

As well as two weeks intensive training, all new staff are closely monitored and supported during their three-month probationary period, and offered continuous training thereafter, ensuring that they have the skills and support required to do the job to the best of their ability. This means that whether you are joining us with a wealth of experience, or no formal experience at all, we will support you to grow and become a valued member of our team.

We champion professional development and have recently worked with the College of Further Education to create their new Apprenticeship Programme. Our nurses link into the Guernsey nursing community to ensure that they have the most up to date clinical knowledge at our fingertips and we are always looking at ways to further develop the skills base in the Homes. CI Healthcare is large enough to be able to offer a wealth of training opportunities, whilst having the luxury of getting to know our team members and being able to tailor their professional development on an individual basis.

We provide a clear career pathway from Carer, to Senior Carer, Healthcare Assistant, Associate Practitioner, Registered Nurse and beyond with opportunities to step off at the point you feel you have attained your goals and potential. This pathway is designed to be flexible, so that it can be tailored to the individual.
